ReplyDeleteYes, Tomorrow is the first day of the rest of our lives.
ReplyDeleteHugs.
hmm...I thought it was "Today"...which is the first day for the rest of our lives...tomorrow is the 2nd day...mwahaha
ReplyDeletethese are actually lyrics from one from one of my favorite guitarist/singers Cynthia Alexander...(she's a Filipina) and her songs have that extra spark for me...
ReplyDeleteI like her "Hiroshima" too but I can't seem to find the mp3...
this particular song is entitled well (a bit obviously)..
"Those Days" hehehe..
LOL.
ReplyDeleteWe say that "Tomorrow never comes" as it is always in the future.
She sounds OK, never heard of her before.
ReplyDeleteThanks.
yeah, unfortunately most of our musical talents here get shipped out to other countries working as singers or in bands (overseas foreign workers or OFW as we term them)..
ReplyDeleteWe are a very musically-inclined country...the rest of our singers who do not work abroad are usually only well-known in our country...few have achieved international stardom though...
A most recent example is Charice Pempengco , popularly known by the mononym Charice.
She is a Filipino recording artist and actress who rose to popularity through YouTube.
Dubbed by Oprah Winfrey as the Most Talented Girl in the World, she released her first international studio album Charice in 2010. The album entered the Billboard 200 at number-eight, making Charice the first Asian singer in history to land in the Top 10 of the Billboard 200 albums chart.

As for Cynthia...
ReplyDeleteacc to wikipedia -
Her music infuses prose-poetry and haunting melodies with indigenous Philippine and Asian rhythms. Known for her uncompromising artistic integrity, she has performed on many international stages including the Rainforest World Music Festival in Malaysia, the Jack Daniel’s World Music Tour in Singapore and the Southeast Asian Night Market Festival in New Zealand. She also played gongs and bass on world tours (India, U.S., Japan, Canada) with Joey Ayala at ang Bagong Lumad.
Another Pinoy who's been around for a while is Apl.de.ap (Alan Pineda) of the Blacked Eyed Peas. Alan was born and raised in Pampanga, Philippines. The Peas are in the top 10 highest earning musical entertainers. From the slums of Angeles City to the mansions of LA, this kabalen is on top of the world. And he hasn't forgotten where he came from. Heard that he visits Angeles regularly and helps financially the local schools. He still speaks Kapampangan like a real kabalen.
ReplyDeleteoo, yan pang isa...a great guy, he hasn't forgotten his roots...its something to crow about how musically talented most of the folks we have are and I wish we had more of them around sa international music scene...
ReplyDeletepero BNK *grin* di ka naman magagalit ha....if I am having a smile at your expense as I read this?
kc sa sulat mo sa taas, na imagine ko tuloy na na-black eye sa pag-aaway at carambola ang mga band members hehehe!
(Blacked Eyed instead of Black Eyed)
*baka ma-bigyan ako ng right hook ni BNK at ma black-eye ako....wehehe*
No, not enough to give you a black eye. Pero pag inagawan mo ako ng pagkain, hindi lang right hook aabutan mo. hahaha Piss Cat, piss, I mean peace pala. LOL
