What kept me interested in the movie "The King of Jail Breakers" was why in the world the guy kept on escaping from different jails to make his sentence heavier but always let himself be caught after a short time. The ending was just ....typically Japanese :-)
Ay sus. Nah, not my type of movie - movies are a form escapism for me, but I don't want a movie about jailbreakers! ha ha hba
ReplyDeleteWhat is a "typical Japanese" movie ending?
ReplyDeleteYun bang may nag harakiri? or walking away into the forest ala Satoichi?
ReplyDeleteam not that fond myself of that type of movie because I thought it was just a series of jailbreaking...
ReplyDeletebut as I could not find the ending listed anywhere on the internet, I kept on watching it the movie from the middle (when I first chanced upon it) to the end and it was more than what I read from the movie synopsis...
escape artist man gyod sya and no jail could keep him and it was a mystery why he seemed to always let himself be caught...and that was the hook...
I think its been screened in some film festivals abroad before...
my definition of it would be "irony" but not the punch-in-your-face kind...but the subtle one where you never know what hits you till the last second :-)
ReplyDeleteah...no harakiri here....and no ride into the sunset, or rather walk into the forest...
ReplyDeletein fact, am feeling kinda sorry for how he truly escaped in the end...(and no there's no death involved)
