travel for Americans to Cuba is not allowed...though i know Americans go around this rule by getting to Cuba thru a 3rd country...but from Manila to Cuba?
"Special info for US citizens Common belief holds that U.S. citizens and foreign residents are forbidden by law to travel to Cuba. This is not true. The applicable legislation is the Trading with the Enemy Act under which the restriction is not on travel but on the spending of money in Cuba. Of course one can practically equate the ban on spending money in Cuba to a travel ban because in normal circumstances a visitor must spend on accommodations, food and other necessities.
Exceptions to the ban on spending money in Cuba are allowed by licenses issued by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the Treasury Department."
weird no? coz you'd have to spend money in Cuba if you go there...
anyway another thing I read - may sabi galing sa Cancun or Nassu na flight... well, in the end, probably nga e Philippines to somewhere else like the Mexico or Bahamas (hehe) tapos hop on a plane to Cuba...
may consulate naman yata din pala dito Cuba...in fact dito lang sa Makati (Aguirre street sounds familiar to me)
