The problem with branding is a *toink moment* for me. So my friend Jeng emails me a list of what she thinks we can also bring to the Mt. Pulag trek. On it was "gardenia". I innocently asked, "But Jeng, why will I bring a flower?". Golly, e sliced bread pala! LOL

  1. Brand names sure make our cultural jargons more colorful. Kodak, Xerox, iPhone. Just Google them... you know what I mean.

  3. one of my fave books to bring when travelling long flights is "The Making of a Name: The Inside Story of the Brands We Buy"...I enjoyed reading the stories behind but I have to admit, I haven't finished it till now though I've had it for years...

  4. Do you know that Colgate originally sold soaps? Only 67 years later (of selling soap) did they decide to sell tooth paste.
    So when our moms told us to clean our mouths with soap, instead of tooth paste, they sure (possibly) knew what they were talking about.

  6. pano ba naman..no-name ako pag bread..kain lang ng kain kung anong nandyan na brand...

    pero if one tells me a particular bread - say brioche, chapatti, baguette, french batard, pan de sal, sliced wheat bread, anpan, curry bread, bagel, focaccia....abah, expert ang tyan ko nyan...

    but that bahu-baho makes me remember bahug-bahug ...which I never ate...coz sabi ni mommy di ko dapat kainin daw
