Sometimes he puts together amazing pictures with information about places and things w/c I've not encountered before. Sometimes its just plain funny what he comes up with.
Today, with his permission, I grabbed one set w/c I found as good marketing - not only for the product, but for the brand itself of a country when I see the hands and how they've painted them.

hmm...now you got me thinking...coz there are a lot here which could be used there, but not something i can say uniquely Philippines...
ReplyDeletesay for example, if I were to use coconut tree and sea...but its w/ the others..hmm..maybe a carabao? nah..thats also in others..a Philippine monkey eating eagle ..maybe...though its not exactly the image that comes to mind when thinking Phils...
I liked South Africa (of course due to the big cats) and the Norway..hahaha..got me laughing...
ReplyDeleteI had to look through it twice to find Norway, not what I would have expected. I don't know enough about Phillipines to suggest anything but some special old tribal, maybe religious item if not a specific creature.

ReplyDeleteI was thinking for Philippines it would be food - like roasted pig (lechon) but its too specific I guess to particular areas...
Vikings were not Norway specific but fine. I would have chosen something from their Mythology like the terribly ugly "Ogres" often sold to tourists, girls in particular hang them on their back packs.
ReplyDeleteAs for your country with its 7100 Islands it really is a problem to find a general item representative of them all, so they'd need several. Take the two for Japan, one represents basically Honshu and central Japan, the other being fitting for Okinawa, all they need now is one specific to Hokkaido and the Ainu folk.
ugly ogres? couldn't it be some handsome god of gods or something? when I think of ogres I think of Shrek.....LOL
ReplyDeletebtw, I also found the one for Egypt fun ....very appropriate and esp w/ how these drawings are found on ancient walls there..it was just spot on...
I guess thats the problem w/ branding w/ us here (you may not have read it but there was a recent country branding brouhaha involving some high folk in the Dept of Tourism)...

how about Denmark? were there hands ads for it too? or I missed it?
Traditionally dressed women or some other modern thing for Norway, Sweden and Denmark but not collective. Perhaps the National bird, flower ....., Our bird is the Swan.
ReplyDeleteI have not seen anything for Denmark, not in this bunch at least. The thing is, Do AT&T sell their phones here there or where? I have not seen any here. We prefer Nokia or Sony-Ericson.
