I was looking for chestnuts, and instead I found this. No camera but a quick pic w/ my cellphone so I can share my amusement with you :-)
My first time to see this kind of bread....
well, at least you don't have to worry about cholesterol, high blood and the guilt of eating something forbidden!
Oink!
I promise I'm going to go back one of these days and buy one, unwrap the plastic and compare this lechon w/ the real thing!
ReplyDeleteI'm intrigued Cat...let me know how it tastes :) I've never seen a lechon bread before..
ReplyDeletethis is funny!!! we have the same but in different forms...
ReplyDeletehmmm... ano kaya ang laman niya sa loob??
ReplyDeleteCat, I am sure merong moulded pan yan. Baka naman pwede kang bumili sa kanila. Is it some kind of a french bread? Mukhang crusty ang crust.
ReplyDeleteThey look so cute.
I-palaman mo na lang yung lechon sa lechon bread:-) Lagyan mo na rin ng sarsa.
ReplyDeletebest with sarsa ng lechon jam!
ReplyDeleteako rin Suzanne! my goodness, baka next time its lechon baka? :-)
ReplyDeletereally? ano sya Nona - like pig pero ibang hitsura?
ReplyDeletemaybe lemongrass? eeek!
ReplyDeleteay mali..that was for lechon manok!
but pano kaya sa topmost part where the head, ears and snout are? if I wasn't in a hurry to go back home, I'd have grabbed one...
ReplyDeletemedyo malayo kc itong store na to...but I will try to get back there and get my hands on this para I can taste it :-)
it would be fun if the filling was lechon meat ;-)
I am guessing baka naman some Chinese folks have these to include it in the Christmas or New Year dinner table...
the last 2 lechons I tasted here in Cebu were so flavorful that putting sarsa on it would be a crime :-)
ReplyDeletein fact, I even forego vinegar or any other dips when I have lechon here...
but maybe for this bread, that would be fun :-)
lechon jam? versus lechon jelly kaya?
ReplyDeletemaybe some lechon butter...
argh! pass lang muna ako :-)
i am almost certain its just plain bread molded into shape of a lechon.
ReplyDeleteI think so too...or if it has filling, baka its like a meatroll lechon-shaped version lang :-)
ReplyDeleteYes, that would be a mortal sin!! Cebu, I heard has the best lechon in the Philippines.
ReplyDeleteSige, let us know. Lagyan mo na rin ng Cebu lechon:-)
ReplyDeleteor maybe next time, I will have them make a lechon which will look like sliced bread ...hehehe..mas challenge yan!
ReplyDeletenyeee.....
ReplyDeleteAnnette, ayaw mo?
ReplyDeletemagiging vegetarian ako ng di oras dito....
ReplyDeletejust think..you can eat this (if you like bread and lechon but don't want the health risks) :-)
ReplyDeleteBaka lechon lang ang design.
ReplyDeleteI think that is more of what is really the truth....
ReplyDeleteimagine if you put this on a table w/ the real lechon at the side :-)
