Almost in a panic-mode just seconds ago. My iphone just had a blank screen which was unresponsive inspite of my pressing the home button, sleep button and scribbling on the screen's surface. Took a deep breath and googled. Voila...solved :-)

  1. Well, actually I first tried to determine if it was really dead by plugging it through the USB cable to my laptop. It could still be detected, so either the display screen was faulty or something I needed to do in tandem to get it to work. Lucky it was the latter...thank you internet and google! mwah!

  2. are you using Globe? if yes, don't forget to switch off the automatic link to Globe internet...otherwise you'll have bills into the thousands.

  5. Were you running out of battery?
If it wasn't, most often 'rebooting' your phone may work - completely sliding the red power button on the screen to OFF. Then turn your phone on again.

  6. hi Mar,

no, it was fully charged, it just mystified me why it suddenly became like that when I just put it down to close the door...

anyway, nothing could be seen on the screen, and no amount of pressing on the home or the sleep button seemed to work...but I did verify the iphone was ok because I connected it then to the laptop and detected it.

for one second, I had this mad idea that I had to go back to Hong Kong...hahaha...don ko kc binili...*makes sign of the cross*

  7. Let me clarify my question: What was it that you found (in Google, etc.) that allowed you to resolve the blank screen? Or, what was the cause of the blank screen?

  8. hi Tochie,

the solution is this: press simultaneously the home button and sleep button and keep them pressed for at least about 10 seconds until you see the Apple logo show on the screen...then let the buttons go when you see that logo..

    its like a reset...

hmm...the answer I found, but there was no explanation on the reason..if its an iPhone malady or something...

  9. your phone must have hanged.
normally when after a few seconds of not using, it goes off. all you have to do is press the circular button at the bottom. if you have encoded a password, it will ask you for it. so slide the arrow to unlock. and voila!

  10. hi Meann...

wala syang response even w/ the home button (the circular button at the bottom) or the sleep button (the unobtrusive one at the top) were pressed.

I also disabled my password na before, so dapat diretsahan na yon...its really weird, more than 2 weeks na ako gumagamit tapos nag-mania..hmph...

after viewing it, I put it down ...closed the door, puttered around the kitchen then came back to the iphone...yun na...(sabi ko pinagalitan yata ako at di ako bumili ng smartphone namin hehehe)

  13. Buti wala akong ganyang problema. Ang iPhone na binili ko more almost two years ago hanggang ngayon di ko pa ginagamit. Lumang model na nga.

  14. tsk..tsk...the next time you buy ng mga iphone or ipad etc. e baka gusto nyo po i-break in ko muna...*grin*

why are you not using it? I am not an iphone person, but in one trip to Subic, I noticed how useful its apps were...so I resolved, even if may wi-fi lang, there were a lot of things I could use it for on a trip - currency converter, translator, may map pa...and I heard kc na for prepaid, e pwede yata sa Globe na Php 20 per day lang for surfing, which would be helpful if I need to be connected to the internet for some days while I am on the road here in our country...
