    it says there's going to be a live action one for Rurouni Kenshin, set to be out in 2012...wheeeee!

    you must pardon me...this and Ranma 1/2 are my top 2 favorite manga of all time...(well, ok, I've not been up to date when it comes to manga these days, I can't even remember the last time I read Bleach)

    oh dear...too many acronyms already in my line of work, and there's the internet to contend with....mwahaha!

    Oh yes, I saw and I commented on your Wiki link.

    Before it was really difficult to get scanlations of RK...and I had to wait until all were completed by generous RK-lovers too (so even if I didn't have a manga set myself, I am proud to say I was able to read all of it!)

    Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Swordsman Romantic Story (るろうに剣心 -明治剣客浪漫譚-, Rurōni Kenshin Meiji Kenkaku Rōmantan), also known as Rurouni Kenshin and Samurai X, is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Nobuhiro Watsuki.
    The fictional setting takes place during the early Meiji period in Japan.
    The story is about a fictional assassin named Himura Kenshin, from the Bakumatsu who becomes a wanderer to protect the people of Japan.

    The series has been highly popular in Japan, the United States, Brazil and Europe, being recognized as one of the best of all time. The manga has sold over 47 million copies in Japan as of 2007 while the anime has ranked among the 100 most watched series in Japan multiple times. The anime and manga have received praise and criticism from various publications for anime, manga and other media, with both having received good response on the characters' designs and the historical setting.     Yes, he's always happy when I post links. He has connections to the movie studio in Osaka due to some of the things he gets involved in, a very active arranger of stuff in Osaka, especially Kashiwara where he lives, Matsuri and so on.

    for a minute I read it as Nara instead of Osaka...:-)

    I guess Nara gets stuck in my mind since it seems lots of anime (no stats though on my end) are coming out of Nara Animation studios...(ahaha..and I thought before they really just had cute deer *wink*)

    now Osaka...am sorry but I think of food (okonomiyaki and takoyaki) and bunraku when I hear that town's name....hehehe...apologies to Seiji-san in advance...

    No, on the first occasion we enjoyed fish and rather a lot of Sake and Chushu and beer. The next time we had Japanese "Junkfood" (at least that's what Seiji calls Yakitori) with fruit and beer. lol

    isn't Chushu a bit strong? would be interesting to taste it..but I think I'll settle for plum wine...hehe

    Shōchū (焼酎?) is a Japanese distilled beverage. It is typically distilled from barley, sweet potatoes, or rice, though it is sometimes produced from other ingredients such as brown sugar, buckwheat or chestnut. Typically shōchū contains 25% alcohol by volume (weaker than whisky or standard-strength vodka but stronger than wine and sake). It is not uncommon for multiply-distilled shōchū, which is more likely to be used in mixed drinks, to contain up to 35% alcohol by volume.

    Sake is less strong, more like wine.

    The Fruit was desert. The Beer was our in between drink.
