I don't want to rent another 3G phone for my trip..maybe I ought to get the cheapest 3G phone I can find...how about a Nokia 2730...but first I have to see how much its going for here in the Philippines...

  1. Maganda nga yung Nokia 2730. Yung phone mo ba hindi unlocked? If it is you can bring that phone anywhere except Korea but I think the 3G phones work there with a SIM card, if you can find one. Check out the Nokia E71. Less than P20,000 na lang yata yan dyan. That phone is a good one and I swear by it because I have one for almost 2 years na.

  2. Sorry, but I can't help you here. I don't own a cellphone of any sort.

  3. hi Joey...its more of 3G capability..mine is already roaming and worked when I was in the US..kaso sa Japan, kailangan 3G eh...

so, useless ang Treo ko tsaka these other cellphones I have here at home kc di 3G

  4. hi Ted.....oh that reminds me..if I will be calling you, that means at the office or at home?

I feel somewhat incomplete without my hanky and cellphone, watch and wallet when I go on trips...(well, ok the wallet is a given)

  5. I understand Cat but I am talking about putting in another SIM card from that other country's into your cell phone so you will get local rates. Just like when I went home to Pinas, I bought a SIM card there and bought some loads to use my phone there. I did not use the roaming capability of my phone. If I did, I would have gotten a $3,000 bill on my statement when I got home:-(((

  6. ah....I don't usually make calls naman kc from my cell when am in another country...hehehe..para lang ma receive ko ang text where I get most of my info (free kc)....

I just use a phonecard and pay phones (nagtitipid talaga ano? hahaha) its more for emergency that people can reach me immediately...

oh yes, the last time, I answered calls when I was abroad, lucky work-related, so charge :-)

  7. OK, got it. Ako naman kasi, bakasyon, kaya kailangan tawagan lahat ng kaibigan, mga Kayus, at kamag anakan at mga Ex's:-)

  8. At least ikaw, pwedeng i charge ang call kasi business trip ka naman.

    ReplyDelete
  9. but those calls were during my vacation...tsk..tsk...

kaya ngayon, iba na policy ko...ayoko nang ma disturb even during my vacation no...unless bayaran nila part of my day or travel expenses....di na ako magpapa-hero..kc mahal semento...

  11. e naghahanap nga ako 3K lang sana...hahaha....I've got other mobiles di k na ginagamit...at eto nga yung Treo ko nag-sitting pretty lang...

sana yung E71 cheap lang din...

  12. Subukan mo sa EBay. Mura lang dun. Some around $150.00 or P6500 + shipping and handling. Pa declare mo na lang ng mas mura para mura din ang tax.

  13. Php 4,690 lang sa Anson's ang Nokia 2730..good for 6 months, installment, zero interest....maybe I should get one and give my old one to my mom who doesn't like cellphones..hehe!

on another note, the C3 looked attractive from afar, but it wasn't 3G :-( and its not a smartphone either..

  14. Yes. Kasi nasa presyo na, hehehehe...

    ReplyDelete
  15. regarding that, pano pala yon..assuming the price is more or less the same from a couple of months back ....and even with the credit card rates there's no increase in the price (ex. its still P 4,600 before at one time and now at installment)..

    ReplyDelete
  16. That means couple of months back pa sila nang-loloko.

    ReplyDelete
  17. ah..the beauty of business...

oh well, pero its certainly a beaut w/ this zero installment business...before kc if utangin mo e alam mo kaagad ibang presyo :-)
so far its the cheapest for 3G Nokia phones...until the next one comes along :-)

  18. there I was...trying to confirm the network for 2730 if it could be for Japan ..then I got dazzled by the Nokia N8 (funny ad)...for while..until I remembered it was nearing Christmas and my credit cards were put away :-)

  22. epp..epp....don't be so hasty naman! LOL

  24. btw Joey, anong balita pala sa camera LX5 dyan? kc dito out of stock pa rin eh...

    ReplyDelete
  25. I will check Lighthaus camera but it would be the Leica version. Kung meron, I will shoot some photos with it and them post them for you.

    ReplyDelete
  26. hmm...bakit wala pang Panasonic version dyan..or you mean yung suki mo yun lang kina-carry, more on Leica?

    ReplyDelete
  27. Sila kasi ang Leica distributor dito. I heard na baka daw nila i-carry yung Lumix line but nothing has happened. I am really hoping they would carry the Lumix line. Best Buy carries the Lumix line but they don't carry the LX5 nor the LX3. I was interested in the Lumix ZS7 but it is only available online. This one has GPS capability but I don't need that so I ended up buying the Lumix ZS5 for $239.00, $150 less than the ZS7. The Leica version of the ZS7 is the VLux20 and it is $300 more. Never mind na lang.

    ReplyDelete
  28. btw, you might also want to consider the Lumix ZS5. Mas magaan sa bulsa. It has a Leica DC Vario-Elmar lens f3.3 - f4.9. Very sharp too and the zoom is from 24 mm to 300 mm optical zoom. Ang galing. Meron pang Manual setting so you can control your exposure.

Si Boy Yniguez, he shoots with the ZS7 with great results. Check out his photos. Contact mo ba siya?

    ReplyDelete
  30. no..di yata....shempre mas gusto ko yung bagong bata...matagal actually na akong naghahanap ng LX3..tapos ganito pang nangyari..so prang Holy Grail na yata ang epek...LOL

  31. makukuha mo rin yan. just be patient{-)

    ReplyDelete
  32. hehe...hay...just said it can't be in time for my trip to Japan..but oh well, bahala na...

    ReplyDelete
  45. its very inspirational..parang if you believe it..you're more than half-way there...hope you can have time to see it between work and all the other things you do :-)

    ReplyDelete

  47. I've finally seen the light -

spending Php 4, 500 to 4700 to buy a new cellphone just for use in Japan...versus spending the money to eat sa Japan?
