Travel insurance - Php 900 (Peso policy) for a 15-day trip to Japan. I'm happy it is not as bad as I feared it would deplete my travel funds :-)

  1. like to give a shout of thanks to Doc Philip for reminding me about travel insurance as I was planning this trip...I usually don't get one for personal trips (and my business trips are covered)...but this time, I think its best to do so as I'm a bit stressed out these days :-)

  5. as I noticed, when you are younger, you don't think about travel insurance...some young folks I ask who do travel also...said they didn't get any travel insurance (like what I am guilty of, kc sayang daw)...well better may konti kaysa wala...

  6. better to be worry free when for some unfortunate reason, you have to see a Dr. or go to ER...getting sick on vacation is bad enough, worrying about medical expenses only makes it a nightmare.

Happy Travels! & you are welcome!

  7. *grin*

sometimes even when am on a trip, and I feel I am going to be sick...nag-ma-mantra ako sa aking utak - bawal magkasakit...mahal dito ang hospital, ang clinic, don ka na sa Pinas where there is health insurance coverage..hahaha...

    and it works!

mostly super hectic ang schedule its like not a vacation anymore..like 5 hours or less na sleep and grabeng walking etc. but I don't get sick or feel dizzy or faint..when siguro here sa PInas gumulong-gulong na ako sa daan sa puyat...

but yes, definitely, that added assurance that there's that cushion is a mentally refreshing thing...

kayo rin po..happy travels! and salamat uli!

    *joke, joke*

I never used to bring much meds before..more lang of vitamins, then one trip I had, yung programmer ko nagkasakit..nakupo..ako pang umikot at maghanap ng botica..buti sa Tagaytay lang yon...so this time, bitbit na ako for myself...if ever *knock on wood*

  10. at least internet is a certainty in Japan, where we are going...malabo yata, but hopefully it won't be a problem

  11. actually, not a lot offer wi-fi :-)

pero at least, as long as its not Japanese keyboards, some hotels, inns, ryokans may have a computer or two which you can use to check the internet...I may not post probably as I have not reserved in business hotels, but at least I can use it to check the train schedules I need to hop from one town to another.. *Cross fingers*

pero to be safe, I've actually saved na some of them..hehehe...contingency lang...

ako rin po...really wish I could be there too..my mom's desire w/ her wish to see the Holy Land has rubbed off on me...

  12. will let you know if the trip is Senior friendly(will ask tour leader)...but i know ours isn't... i think there are tour packages catered to be more relaxed & less hectic.

  13. the problem with medical insurances, you have to pay for yourself first, and the insurance will just refund your expenses..when my mom was here, she had to go see a doctor, we had to shell out the money first, then she went home to process the refund

  15. well for HMO here, it can be like that if its not an accredited clinic or hospital...
and unfortunately, the HMO I am under now, does not cover for outside Phils...

before sa Keller ganon din, though (I think sara na sila) mabilis processing...

  16. ah the travel insurance I got for this trip is from Malayan Insurance...

  17. I should have investigated further instead of jumping in...I remember I am already paying an insurance fee when I bought my ticket from Ceb Pac....and in both tickets. :-( maybe that already covers it...

    ReplyDelete
  18. hmm..methinkgs travel insurance should be optional when you buy the ticket, after all, if you take a separate travel insurance then your flight should be covered already right?

as it is there is a Php 250 charge per ticket (or per 1 way)...and that is only good I think until 2 hours after your arrival in your destination...

cebu pacific website is not consistent..was surfing under their Travel Services, and couldn't find the insurance portion until I went into another option w/c wasn't travel insurance :-)

so folks, just a note on that...
