A basic bug in Cebu Pacific website. I just tried using their web check in facility now. I see this nice exclamation point: "Passenger must select a seat." So obligingly (though I don't want to pay extra for any seat), I go and click on the link..only to be greeted with - "Sorry, you cannot choose seats for this flight online. Seats will be assigned when you check in for your flight at the airport."
*sigh* coming from software development I've seen similar bugs on other apps...but this just stuck me as funny...oh well, manual check-in tomorrow..hope weather is cooperative and that I catch my needed sleep during the ride...
ReplyDeleteAirlines "trick or treat" Cat?!
ReplyDeleteI just read a column by Ellen Tordesillas related to this issue - http://www.ellentordesillas.com/?p=13559&utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed:+EllenTordesillas+(Ellen+Tordesillas).
ReplyDeleteobviously they haven't done any testing..or did but didn't fix it..
ReplyDeleteprobably too busy chomping on halloween goodies? hehehe...may their teeth rot from too much sugar then...tsk..tsk..
wawa naman sila...I understand may concerns ang airlines on their part, and until such time they can perfect their systems and linked them para di naman mag-chain reaction (malay, baka nag change ng equipment i.e. plane at the last moment) kaya sino namang may malay?
ReplyDeletea fix for that would have been for the program to check the age against the rule..pero siguro diretso lang sila ng tanggap ng tanggap..
golly, I miss the days I could sit on exit seats w/out paying extra :-)
I do recall vaguely when we studied some low-cost carrier companies back in b-school...I think JetBlue yata yong isa...
yan ang challenge, to be low-cost but to provide good service...
its only this year that I've gone back to riding Cebu Pacific...
ReplyDeletethe first year they started out, I was one of the lucky passengers in their first few months of operations...that first flight was bad...not only were there gaps in their service (if one has been riding PAL for some time, shempre you will compare)...but at the end, I got a migraine pa w/c didn't subside till I arrived home..sabi ko this is a sign from God! mwahaha!
the second time I rode on Cebu pacific, that was the time a typhoon just hit Philippines..I think I even blogged about how terrible the whole weekend was leading to my trip.
One or two days yata after the typhoon, I go to airport.
Not only do I NOT find my flight number anywhere on the check-in counters (kc promo yata yon na flight, bought months in advance), I had a couple of bags which I was afraid would get stolen in the melee.
Crowded masyado ang terminal kc parang nag-cascade yata yung mga flights nila and affected, so parang walang queues, and those on the counters were a bit frantic-looking na..
Kung sa PAL pa yon, at least masabi ko na tatawagan ako to say a flight has been moved or rescheduled.
Nowadays may email. May cellphone...may Facebook..este...mali..
Anyways, I said to myself..baka third time pagsakay ko ng Ceb Pac e may WW3 na...
but seriously, may mga panahon talga when its not their day...some friends of mine rue flying on PAL, and you know the joke - PALaging late...and say they had all good experiences sa Cebu Pacific, never daw na delay...so...I will just hope and pray for tomorrow...
hay, i am so not a fan of cebu pacific. the service has never been satisfactory. the only reason i ever fly with them is because they're cheap. so at least we get to go home 3x a year.
ReplyDeletejust rode cebu pac on our way home from SG. amazingly, the flight was on time and airline attendants were very gracious...hmmm...i just hope they change how their uniform looks...
ReplyDeletewell...they do say Pat :-)
ReplyDeletethat you pay peanuts you get monkeys..hehehe
ewan ko ba..parang di sila consistent no?
ReplyDeletesometimes ok, sometimes dehins..
bakit ano ba uniform nila Meann? same as domestic? parang ok naman ah...
