goody..I look forward to hearing about your impressions...
you can catch the short acts if you wish to avoid the whole thing..its also reasonably priced if you do it that way (I stayed away from 15K JPY kabuki acts)
its fascinating how they can coordinate so much action, along with the narrator and samisen player (3 puppeters to one puppet)..and more suprising, was how the puppets themselves move so realistically its eerie...
too bad no pictures are allowed...pero super enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI don't mind missing kabuki..I will take bunraku anytime..
You can always embed a few but you must upload them to an album first to allow shareing, then there's no point.

hi John,
ReplyDeleteI meant more that - in the National Bunraku Theatre, no pictures or photos were allowed to be taken...*sad*
Ah, I see, well that is often the case at Public performances, museums etc.

hmm..I guess I was disappointed because while in Kyoto's Gion Corner, they allowed photos and videos...
ReplyDeleteanyway, I definitely will recommend it to all those who visit Osaka...such fun seeing the fight scene...4 puppets and 12 humans on stage...
Sounds interesting, I'll ask Seiji san to take me next time I visit.
