This is the first freaky Friday I had ever in my life. Two accidents, both involving my bag. It could be an episode of Murphy's law...and though I have no broken bones, I certainly now have one green-violet apple-sized bruise on my left knee.
Ok, short version..long version later..am hungry, I'm a survivor of...some Friday war w/ my bag ;-(
You won't believe it guys and gals - I rolled like a stone down the escalator at Odawara station. Good thing it was short...but it had pros and cons.
Secondly, I fell forward somewhere in Tokyo station on the way to the JR Yamanote line. Again, pros and cons...
*sigh*..the end of my Hakone lovely sojourn, hello yakuza-Tokyo...parang action adventure to ah..daig pa si Indiana Jones...cge, alis muna ako to find food, my body is protesting...
not really limping, and I hope it won't develop into something worse....but well, hopefully it won't stop my travel :-)
Tama si Tochie...you definitely need a travel bud. I'd be happy to be that, but I don't think I can protect you from yourself....lol. Take better care, Cat. Hugs.
carelessness lang yata to due to my hurrrying from one station to another to try and be on sked...
I learned my lesson..when I saw a sign earlier, I went for the elevator na...but its not always available in all train stations...really daunting after all the accidents to be faced w/ a long line of stairs..
anyway, I better not think about it...that thinking of my needing a travel bud will just exacerbate this....after all the solo trips I had w/out accidents, I think today tried to make up for 1 percent of the total trips I had...
Oy ok lang po...after the first accident, I think my guardian angel was working overtime...
nothing talaga..no cuts, bruises, not even my hair out of place..was just worried about my laptop...
siguro nainis na sa akin coz I was really hurrying...kaya ayon...2nd accident..hehe...anyway, learned my lesson...will not bring this bag for international travel, will stick to my usual backpack/roller...w/c was my suki..
isn't this a lovely avocado? unedited and straight from the cam (am doing some laundry so medyo messy ang room)
I have a smaller version on the side of my right knee but at least it doesn't look as fruity as this...more like sineguelas..hehe...
btw that furoshiki at the side I found in Hakone Open Air Museum....hay...so many nice Picasso-like works etc. there....but as Chinese Fookien say = bo chi (no money..except credit card)
ayayay! ang sakit nyan ha! plus a dented dignity...naku...you better have it checked when you come back...baka magaya ka sa amin ni jing. medyo parang nakalas na ang tuhod namin...maalog na.
thanks sister...ok naman siguro I've been walking around and around naman...grabe lang pagka-drop to knees and flat on face kanina..hehehe...akala ko nga dented yung nose ko eh...
first time - naku, ang laptop! ang bag (kc my shoulder bag, if kainin sa ngipin ng escalator steps, baka mag stuck up) second time - aray...so this is the nose-to-the-ground feeling pala...*snorts dust out*
I commented about the dangers of escalators in one of your notes. But, I notice Cat, you are not only losing part of your memory, now you are losing the spring of your legs. What's happening. But of course, you were always prone to tapilok or tripping. Your feet and lower limbs are protesting.
I only had 3 hours sleep, then woke up and took the trains to Nikko..
ayon, definitely lack of sleep is making me space out...kanina kumakain ako ng nikuman (siopao sa atin) kc 2 pm na at ka-la-lunch ko lang...naiwan wallet sa store :-)
its ok, lucky its Japan, so the wallet is back in my bag...zzzzzz....I think I've not yet recovered from the shock..hehe..
but yun, quota ko for today na yan - leaving wallet...hehe...
funny thing...in all the years I've done my personal travel na walang travel insurance, wala namang ganito nangyari sa akin na parang marble gumugulong sa escalator..hay!
please don't tell me gusto ng insurance i-claim ko itong mga ganito..I'd rather have no eventful stuff happening ...
anyway, the bruise is showing some spots (like scale pattern)...and yep, the usual yellow and bluish and green? ay..baka ilaw to dito..
no, I've not asked for any x-ray...if there was a broken bone or something, I don't think I'd be able to keep on going from Tokyo to Asakusa w/ my big bag :-)
I don't think may damage sa bone..but I will have an xray when I get home siguro to be safe..sasabihin ko lang masakit..hehe..I hope ok naman...
I didn't have any ice, and 3 pm is the check-in for hotels here, so basically, it happened, and I went on and walked, dropped my bags off, and kept on walking around Asakusa...no ice..but I did put some cold water on it when I got back at night...i'm careful not to do hot baths now kc baka mag swell, so no onsens muna unless I stick my knee out...
it reminds me of those childhood days when we run about,, fall and skin our knee...only this time walang skinning on the knee..bruise lang na malaki...
You really need to make sure you get enough rest, Cat........otherwise, you're less likely to be able to function well. Delikado din 'yan. Ingat......Hugs.
actually yun ang weakness ko..ankles and tripping over..
you can give me high fevers, and i can continue working without sleep, pero ang bilis kong matapilok...although it doesnt' stop me from walking fast...
hmm...maybe I should wear high heels...
coz by then...since naka heels ako, I would be conscious of where I put my feet :-)
alam mo..its now that you mention that, that again I should thank my guardian angel...I didn't kiss the ground (coz my nose got in the way) but certainly, I was flat on my front...
if mangyari yan sa boxer (kc pano naman mangyari pala e di ba pabaligtad when punched?)...it would be nose-to-ground pose tlaga..
hi Tinette! thanks my dear..honga...plan ko talaga to have it checked when I come back...
siguro by that time the doctor will say I was goofing off...inflammation has gone down, I can almost walk quite normally although its still more violet colored than before..
I like to think all my walking around has helped the circulation, as well as the hot and cold baths (actually I stick my left knee out when I am immersed in the baths here)
well, there were men who helped me, but not in these 2 instances...
I don't expect Japanese men to help me due to what I know a little bit about their culture, so it was surprising me when I got help w/ my luggage...
but you would find it ironical for somthing like this, you'd expect help pero wala :-)
though I got a couple of concerned women hovering over me, its vastly different from the outcome you would expect if this happened in the Philippines...

Oh, no...that is not a laughing matter anymore. I wonder if you badly need some rest...and food.
ReplyDeletehehe..don't worry Mommy Peachy :-)

ReplyDeletehi Che, remember that incident we saw in China was it? parang ganon, except, that nobody was there to cushion my fall...
ReplyDeleteI was still able to smile afterwards after the Odawara incident because still - ok ang laptop, ok ang body, dignity lang medyo dented...

ReplyDeleteayayay! ang sakit nyan ha! plus a dented dignity...naku...you better have it checked when you come back...baka magaya ka sa amin ni jing. medyo parang nakalas na ang tuhod namin...maalog na.
ReplyDeletecoz...my biggest bag is the same weight as my convertible backpack/trolley...and the latter is smaller...
ReplyDeletesiguro, nainis na ang bag ko coz I've rolled it a long way in Osaka on the asphalted streets and alleys, and parang nag-rebelde yata ng wheels..
Tumi sya :-)
I will have it x-rayed but siguro when I come back, wala na ang bruise eh...
actually my weakest are my ankles...knees and elbows medyo matibay pa...matulis nga lang..ehehe
wow, that's a big bruise sister! pa x-ray mo yan pag uwi, or baka pwede dyan, just to make sure that your knees are okay.
ReplyDeletehi Ozz,
ReplyDeletethanks sister...ok naman siguro I've been walking around and around naman...grabe lang pagka-drop to knees and flat on face kanina..hehehe...akala ko nga dented yung nose ko eh...

second time - aray...so this is the nose-to-the-ground feeling pala...*snorts dust out*

And did a good-looking man help you?
