November 23: Happy birthday to Daddy! When I called up, he was apparently happily munching on some spare ribs and cake given as gifts by well-wishers. He has turned 85 today! A big achievement (I don't think I can reach that age).
thank you Mar...he may not know all of my friends in Multiply pero alam nya may Multiply (at di na daw nya kaya sa age nya mag internet kaya verbally sasabihin ko lang ang mga birthday greetings nyo rin sa kanya)
Happy Birthday to Tito Nene, it has been almost 25 years since i have not seen him personnally, its good to learn that he is healthy and alive, specially he likes alcohol, i think thats one of the secrets in healthy living always unclog your Arteries with Johnny Walker one of my favourite drinks also.
thank you Chito...I shall tell my dad that, sometimes kc he grumbles, and talks about his contemporaries passing away..and moans aloud that he is old and useless na daw...
what you have said is something I truly agree with - even if medyo may mga creaks and needs oiling na sa machinery (ehehehe) when one is old...and even if they just really stay at home and continue living..the presence of our loved ones in our lives (even if di nakikita palagi) is very comforting and reassuring to me..I guess that is why, even if I live here in Manila, I do not feel sad, knowing that my dad is just 2 hours away if ever gusto kong umuwi...
I will tell him about your greeting... siguro nga it was the alcohol ...hahaha....thats the secret to longevity..his genes have a natural affinity for it...
Happy birthday to your dad..it would now be my "merkmal" ( it's a german word meaning "sign to remember")that to my father's death anniversary is your dad's bday..I find it good so!
Peachy Mommy, how are you? you are still stocking up on Vit B and packing a punch :-)
am sure you are immensely enjoying your time w/ your new family members, hence even if I miss you sa Multiply, am happy knowing that you are going to be super-enjoying this holiday season more than usual...
take care of yourself always, and don't worry about the household chores or repairs dyan...it will still be there later *wink*
Hi, Cat. We just celebrated Thanksgiving Day here (sis reminded me today that it's not celebrated in the Philippines)....lots of food (probably the most gluttonous time of the year) and football games on TV, per tradition. Spent a lot of time at Bella's with the family and a close friend, and after the babies were tucked in, proceeded to another friend's house for a Thanksgiving party. I did make sure to take my B complex pill so that I could function that long. (^_^) It's almost 4 a.m.....Black Friday......traditionally the start of the Christmas shopping season here in the States and the day when some of the biggest sales are on. In past years, people sat outside the stores waiting for the stores to open around 5 a.m. Some even get hurt while fighting for limited edition items on sale. Today, many stores opened their doors at midnight instead....and I can only imagine the shopping frenzy going on now. Too crazy for me. Anyway, yes, it will be a very joyful and hectic season here again. I hope you are having fun getting ready for Xmas.
I think I've evolved into the type of person these days who avoid sales (even if grabeng discount) if it would mean getting trampled. I gave it up na before when I experienced yung mga SM Megamall sales - too many people, too many queues, had to walk from one end to another...its not worth my sanity :-)
pero siguro if gadgets, I might..hehehe...
I always miss out on BLack Friday in the times I am in the US, ewan ko kung bakit, buti rin siguro, best to enjoy w/ a couple of slices of pumpkin pie ang season instead of stampeding around
may sales dito but I've avoided them, even the tech/gadgets one even if thats the kind I most enjoy...
Wala nga dito nyan. Pero pag dating naman ng month of May, halos araw-araw there's a couple of towns at least which has a similar celebration. Afterall, it's the time when people give thanks to their patron saints. It's called a town fiesta.
thanks to the folks in FB who has posted about this in response :-)
